Welcome to Luxembourg Gardens, Auckland’s newest theatre and live art venue.

Luxembourg Gardens is administered by Arthouse Incorporated, a charitable organisation, providing a performing arts residency resource, the first and only of its kind in New Zealand. It is our aim to maintain an ongoing artistic residency for contemporary performing arts practices with particular emphasis on experimental and avant-garde work.

Located in the heart of Auckland City Britomart precinct, this centre offers resident companies public performance space, rehearsal and workshop space and business infrastructure resources. Open to all areas of performance based arts, Luxembourg Gardens creates an environment for cross-pollination of disciplines and a creative space for ideas development.

In addition to each of the resident companies, Luxembourg Gardens will be available as a venue to artists, musicians and touring productions either through individual requests of as part of space curation by the residents.

Luxembourg Gardens to this point has been entirely self funded by voluntary membership fees, small donations and the incredible contributions and elbow grease from members and their friends and families. Luxembourg Gardens is administered by Arthouse Incorporated, a charitable organisation whose aim it is to maintain an ongoing artistic residency for contemporary performing arts practices with particular emphasis on experimental and avant-garde work.
Located in the heart of Auckland City Britomart precinct, the centre offers resident companies public performance space, rehearsal and workshop space and business infrastructure.
Individual performing artists may also participate in various programmes at a number of levels. Arthouse invites sympathetic practitioners to become members or associate members which will entitle them to use of resources and facilities, as well as participating in workshops, forums and public events.
Public programmes will be regularly advertised, ranging from performances in the 80-110 seat theatre, to eduation focussed workshops and events.
